The third generation Dodge Challenger that started its production in 2008 was previewed as the Dodge Challenger Concept at the 2006 Detroit motor Show. Many design cues of the Dodge Challenger Concept were adapted from the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. It was the second pony car to reuse a previous design, as it adapted many design cues from the 1970 Challenger R/T, in the 2000s, after the 2005 Ford Mustang but before the 2009 Chevrolet Camaro.
