The Tesla Roadster 2008 model is a battery electric vehicle based on the Lotus Elise chassis. It is the first highway legal serial production all-electric car using lithium-ion battery cells, first production all-electric car to travel over 320 kilometres per charge and the first production car to be launched into orbit, carried by a Falcon Heavy rocket in the February 6th, 2018 test flight.
