1990 was a year of enhancement for the Eldorado, aside from the new-for-1990 Touring Coupe model introduced later in the model year. The ninth generation Eldorado recieved a driver’s side airbag, introduced as standard equipment. Although as a result, the telescoping steering column was discontinued. Cruise control buttons were mounted on the center of the previous steering wheel, but with the advent of the air bag, they were now moved to the turn signal stalk.
