The Cadillac Brougham name started to be a specific model name in 1987 when the “Fleetwood” term was dropped from the previous Fleetwood Brougham. It was otherwise the same as the 1986 model. The reason for the change was that Cadillac had introduced a new, smaller, front-wheel drive model in 1985 and named it simply the Fleetwood.
